Previously, the IRCTC allowed people to book six tickets a month if their accounts are not linked to Aadhar, and twelve if they are.
According to the IRCTC railways, users of the IRCTC website and app will now be able to book up to 24 train tickets in a month if their user IDs are linked to their Aadhaars; otherwise, only 12 tickets can be purchased.
It should be noted that the Indian IRCTC Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) allows people to book six tickets a month if their account is not linked to Aadhar and 12 if it is linked.
In accordance with the ministry’s announcement, “Indian Railways has decided to increase the maximum number of tickets it can issue in a month to 12 tickets using a user ID unrelated to Aadhaar. The maximum number of tickets an individual may purchase in a month can be increased to 24 by using a user ID linked to Aadhaar, and one of the passengers can be verified using Aadhaar,” according to the ministry.
Additionally, this is useful not only for frequent travelers, but also for family members who book tickets using the same account.
